21 Days of Prayer, Day 7

Readings: Psalms 121, 122, 123, 131, 132; Isaiah 45:14-19; Colossians 1:24-2:7; John 8:12-19

The Psalms in todays readings are Psalms of Ascents.  They were sung or said as the Israelites were going up to Jerusalem for festivals and to worship at the temple.  They sang these verses as they walked.  Cementing them in their hearts as they took steps.  Psalm 121 is one of my favorites.  A song of walking as well.  He will keep our going out and coming.

In the Colossians verses as well as the John verses, Paul and John both talk about walking.  John talks about walking in the light of Christ.  Paul, in Colossians 2:6 talks about walking in him (Christ), rooted and built up in Christ and with thankfulness.  As a business people, I believe our first step should be rooted in Christ.

So today when you think about your jobs that you have to do, are you rooted in Christ?  Are you laying the foundation of Christ first before you go about your business/family work?

My Prayer for my team:  May we work with diligence, rooted in Christ with a strong sense of focus.  May we schedule our time so that we can do business things with a focused heart and mind.  May we walk with Him.
